Double, double, mirror trouble

Fun for the weekend to go along with the Friday word of the day - trotters.

Another early trial at learning to animate characters. This one was easier than the guy hop/walking.
The snakes are from the Hercules/Hydra caricature.

So I wrote two weeks ago that there would be some weird updates showing up around here soon. Here’s the first.
I taught myself Flash. Flash is way, way too much fun for a nerdy girl like me. Here’s one of my trials at learning to manipulate characters.

I usually don’t announce site updates unless they are book related, but I did some mass updating in the last few days and thought I’d stick up a post. The Flub Files were added. I’m hoping they stay at one case, but you know, I have a feeling the more I publish, the more chances for the files to expand. So it’s a dubious honor to have cases, I suppose.
Many thanks to Sheryl for the catch, by the way.
Mackinac Island pictures have been added. The FAQ, movie recs and writing tips were updated.
I’m in the midst of copyedits for What Isabella Desires (August) and am happily furrowing through. I have new things in the pipeline for the site though, so even though I should wait until next month, I may pop up some random things here in the next few weeks.
Happy February to all!
In The Earl of Her Dreams a reference is made to the tale of Joshua McShaver and Caroline Travis. An intrepid young soul decided to tell his tale try his hand at the tale. Enjoy! And feel free to post comments to Joshua at the end. He said he will answer.
Here is a sample:
He had just started carving the latest notch in a leg of his wood frame bed, each notch representing one of the countless ladies that he had… entertained. Countless that is until he started carving the bed to keep track. A fine plan, he thought, until today when the leg finally gave way from one too many notches.
A new contest is up. But what the prize is…well, that remains to be seen….
Hope you have a lovely Monday - whether you celebrate Christmas or not. May happiness and health be yours and follow you and your loved ones into the new year!
Last month’s contest called upon entrants to name one of the characters from The Earl of Her Dreams (other than the hero and heroine, Christian and Kate). Some of the answers were quite humorous - especially those that chose to add an extra bit to their answer.
The winner chose Nicodemus Nickford, and there was a lot of love for him as a choice. Mary and/or Lake were by far the most popular, helped along by the sweepstakers who all had the same answer text.
Extra hugs to people who picked alternative characters that aren’t even listed in the excerpts or on the floor plans. Characters like Bertrand, Lord Darton and Joshua McShaver. I gave happy little squeals whenever I saw one of those.
